On July 30?local?time, the fifth Lancang EMU?developed by CRRC pulled the C96 train out of?Vientiane Station and headed towards Boten?Station.
The EMU?runs at up to?160 km/h?and provides?business, first, and second-class seating. The business-class?seats are?updated with?the?1+1 herringbone layout, allowing adjustment?between sitting and lying positions. For the first time, the business-class seats feature?an?intelligent display, providing?passengers with?travel?information, entertainment options, and other services for?a more intelligent, convenient,?and comfortable experience.
Thanks to an updated coating?process, its?body glossiness?exceeds?95, resulting in a mirror-like surface. The new environmentally-friendly coatings?have been applied?and the?varnish is about three times?thicker compared to?conventional standards, making the train better adapted?to the tropical climate conditions in Laos for its?efficient and consistent?operation in the long run.
Since its inception, the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway has served?more than 10.05 million passengers. The new?Lancang?EMU?is expected to?further increase the frequency of services?in the section, improving the?average daily capacity by?over 1,300 passengers?and enhance?cross-border transport efficiency.
