Recently, CRRC Qishuyan held a delivery ceremony for the hydrogen-powered?locomotive exported to Chile. Based on?the domestic hydrogen-powered?locomotives, this Chile?one is?designed as?a?fuel cell hybrid locomotive,?taking into consideration?its?operating route, environment, as well as specific?conditions like?salt spray, ultraviolet radiation, wind and sand, steep slopes, small curves, urban sections, and large?hydrogenation?capacity, on?the principles of standardization, modularization, serialization, and generalization. The total power of this?locomotive reaches up to 1,000 kW, and it is?equipped with?large-capacity?batteries and a 35 MPa?high-pressure?on-board hydrogen storage system.
This is the?first hydrogen-powered locomotive?in Chile?and in South America?as well. Compared to?FCAB’s existing locomotives, it?is easy to operate, more modern, and humanitarian.
