By: J.M. Sinclair Some time ago, an individual calling himself "Issac" began leaking documents he claims to be from a Palo Alto CARET Labs (PACL) project designed to back-engineer alien technology for patent review and eventual commercial and civilian application. In any UFO-related case where documents are leaked that support the claim of extra-terrestrial contact with the earth, a healthy dose of critical examination must be applied to avoid yet another credibility meltdown that once again will be paid for by the entire UFO field. This critical examination has been very thoroughly done with the MJ-12 documents, but not yet with the CARET documents. My purpose with this article is to point out a number of red flags that came to mind during my reading of the documents posted on Isaac's website.. The first red flag is a total lack of compartmentalization. The alien origin of the technology is clearly and very plainly stated to anyone reading the report. The problem here is that it isn't particularly necessary to reveal that information, and to do it in this manner is counterintuitive to typical government and industrial compartmentalization when dealing with any sensitive technology whether its from the earth or not. The technology could have been attributed to past black projects, and even if the notion of technology this advanced being from earth appeared ridiculous to the engineers involved, it still would have been better to have them speculating about it rather than risking a whistleblower exposing the most closely guarded and important secret held by our government. 'Issac' himself complains about the military's policies on 'need to know' information, yet, the documents are astonishingly general, and cover several different technologies. The second red flag is the lack of application of these technologies. The documents are claimed to be from 1986, yet, we are nowhere close to an anti-gravity generator in the public domain. Nothing even remotely like it exists, and even technologies that could be considered precursors to anti-gravity are also completely lacking. So it would seem the project didn't work, other than in respect to the 'drone' craft sightings, and the cover was still blown by 'Issac'. Well, its hard to believe that the world of black projects and thousand dollar toilet seats wouldn't have thought of this potential, and nipped it in the bud by wording their manual more carefully.
Then we have the anonymous nature of the source. While this doesn't mean much in itself, I would want to be anonymous as well if I were illegally leaking classified documents, it does tend to throw up yet another red flag when taken with the rest. I am not an engineer. So I consulted an electrical engineer who has worked extensively in industry, and also happens to be a firm believer in the UFO phenomenon. He is not a debunker, nor had he seen or had any interest in these documents before I showed them to him. His opinion of the documents are that they are bunk and do not resemble the internal documents of an industrial lab. He questioned why such a general internal document would exist in the first place, given the sensitive nature of the subject, and further stated that the jargon didn't really make that much sense. The document really doesn't say very much, instead it seems to simply attempt to baffle with misused jargon, which would suggest that these are documents made to fool the public, rather than orient engineers to a project. In short, CARET does not mesh well with the mountain of research done by the rest of the field of UFOlogy. The documents may appear superficially convincing, however they fail to provide anything but a vague and not particularly useful overview of two technologies, without any of the things that would be needed to back engineer the devices. There is an obvious lack of secrecy and compartmentalization, and the source is anonymous. All of this strongly indicates a problem, and that we are probably dealing with another hoax, probably related to the 'drone' debacle. Be careful with this one folks.
